Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how DRILL (“DRILL”, “we”, “us”) handles information in the DRILL iOS application (the “App”). DRILL does not require an account, ask for your name or email, sell personal information, or track you across other apps or websites.

Summary

  • Your alarms, wake history, streaks, and settings are stored locally on your device.
  • If you choose to share analytics, DRILL sends pseudonymous product-usage and reliability events to our analytics database.
  • Optional feedback includes the message you submit and basic app/device diagnostics.
  • Subscriptions are processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat.
  • DRILL does not use advertising SDKs or App Tracking Transparency.

Information Stored on Your Device

DRILL stores alarms and their settings, wake-up events and statistics, onboarding preferences, and app settings locally. Widget summaries are shared only between DRILL and its widget through Apple's App Group storage. Uninstalling DRILL removes this local app data. If analytics is enabled, the random analytics identifier may remain in Apple's Keychain so an accidental reinstall does not create a duplicate user in our product measurements.

Product Analytics and Reliability

If you choose “Share anonymous analytics” during onboarding, DRILL assigns a random installation identifier and sends events to Supabase so we can understand onboarding completion, feature usage, alarm scheduling and completion, mission performance, paywall views, subscription entitlement status, and reliability problems. Before that choice, events remain queued only on your device. If you decline, the queue is deleted and future analytics events are not collected. Events may include your onboarding selections, app version and build, iOS version, device model, locale, time zone, Pro status, and alarm or mission configuration details. They do not include your alarm labels, name, email address, Apple ID, contacts, photos, or precise location.

These events are pseudonymous but remain linked to the same random installation identifier so we can analyze a session and product journey. We may associate that identifier with RevenueCat's anonymous customer identifier to reconcile feature usage with subscription entitlement status. They are used only for product analytics, app functionality, support, and reliability—not advertising or cross-app tracking. Supabase hosts this data on our behalf. See Supabase's privacy policy.

Feedback

If you send feedback, we collect the category and message you provide along with the random installation identifier, app version/build, iOS version, device model, locale, time zone, Pro status, and the screen from which feedback was sent. Feedback is optional and is used to respond to issues and improve DRILL. Do not include sensitive personal information in a feedback message.

Notifications and System Alarms

DRILL uses local notifications and Apple's system alarm features to deliver alarms, mission reminders, mandatory re-rings, and optional wake checks. Disabling the relevant permission may prevent an alarm from working as intended.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Apple processes DRILL Pro purchases. RevenueCat manages subscription entitlement status using an anonymous customer identifier and purchase information supplied by Apple, such as product, purchase, renewal, and expiration status. DRILL does not receive your payment-card details or Apple ID. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

How We Use and Share Information

We use information to operate subscriptions, measure onboarding and feature usage, diagnose alarm failures, improve the App, and process feedback. We share information only with service providers needed for these purposes: Apple, RevenueCat, and Supabase. We do not sell information or use it for third-party advertising.

Retention and Deletion

On-device information remains until you uninstall the App. Analytics and feedback records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for product analysis, support, security, and legal obligations. To request deletion of pseudonymous analytics or feedback data, send your DRILL Account ID (available in Profile) through the in-app feedback form. Apple, RevenueCat, and Supabase retain information under their own policies and legal obligations.

Your Choices

  • Manage alarm and notification permissions in iOS Settings.
  • Choose whether to share anonymous analytics during onboarding, and change that choice later in Profile.
  • Manage or cancel your subscription in App Store subscription settings.
  • Delete local data by uninstalling the App.
  • Request deletion of server-side pseudonymous data through Profile → Send Feedback.

Children's Privacy

DRILL is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in their region, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

International Processing

Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.

Changes

We may update this policy as DRILL changes. The date above identifies the latest version.
